Artist & Painter

Kerry was born and raised in Michigan.  She received her BA from Oakland University in 2002, and went on to study Clinical Counseling and American Sign Language in 2004.  She has worked various non-profit organizations in the greater Detroit area dealing with community outreach and mental health.  She attended The International University of Art and Design, and graduated with her MFA with a focus on painting in 2011. She currently lives in South Eastern Michigan with her husband and her dog Luna.

 

Kerry's work revolves around concepts of emotional truth and personal narrative and highlights their role in shaping us as individuals.  Her goal is to invite empathy and understanding through her work.  She cites intimacy and communication as major impetus for her paintings and installations.
